Privacy policy
The protection of your personal data is a particular concern of ours. We therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this privacy information we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within the scope of our website.
Contacting us
If you contact us via the form on the website or by email, the data you provide will be stored in order to process the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
Cookies
Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your device with the help of the browser. They do no harm. We use cookies to make our offering user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. They enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit. If you do not want this, you can set up your browser so that it informs you about the setting of cookies and you only allow cookies in individual cases. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of our website may be limited.
Access data
The website operator or page provider collects data about accesses to the page and stores this as server log files. The following data is logged: page visited, time of access, amount of data sent in bytes, source/referrer from which you reached the page, browser used, operating system used and IP address used. The data is used exclusively for statistical analysis and to improve the website.
SSL encryption
To protect the security of your transmitted data, this website uses SSL encryption. You can recognise encrypted connections by the https://-prefix in the address bar of your browser. Unencrypted pages are marked by http://. Thanks to SSL encryption, all data that you transmit to this website cannot be read by third parties.
Comments and posts
If you leave a post or comment on this website, your IP address will be stored. This serves the security of the website operator: if your text violates the law, your identity can be traced.
Google Fonts
This website uses Google Fonts (online web fonts). In doing so, fonts are transferred from external servers of Google. You can find details in the privacy policy of Google:
- Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de
- Information on web fonts: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq
Google Maps
This website uses map material from Google Maps. When you access a Google Maps page, a connection to Google is established and data may be transferred. Details: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de
YouTube videos
We integrate YouTube videos via iFrames. When the pages are loaded, data is transferred to YouTube. If you are logged in to YouTube, this data can be assigned to your account. Details: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address to send you new articles and information on our topics. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Sign-up uses a double opt-in: after submitting the form you receive an email with a confirmation link, and you are only subscribed once you click it. To be able to prove your sign-up, we store the time of sign-up and confirmation, your IP address and the part of the website where you signed up. This is based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We send the newsletter with Zoho Campaigns, operated by Zoho Corporation B.V., Beneluxlaan 4B, 3527 HT Utrecht, the Netherlands. Your data is stored in data centres in the EU, and we have a data processing agreement with Zoho. Zoho Campaigns records whether a newsletter was opened and which links were clicked; we use this to improve the content. Details: https://www.zoho.com/privacy.html
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the end of every newsletter or by emailing us. Unsubscribing withdraws your consent for the future. We then remove your address from the mailing list and keep it only on a suppression list, so you receive no further newsletters.
To prevent abuse, we also use your IP address for ten minutes when the form is submitted, to limit the number of sign-ups.
Booking a call and enquiries
On the "Book a call" page you can request a 30-minute call by phone, WhatsApp or Signal, or send an enquiry about WordPress help. For a call we process your name, your email address, your phone number, the channel you choose, optionally your company and website, and what you tell us about your project (type of project, budget range, timeline, description). For a WordPress help enquiry we process your name, your email address, your website, your description, the urgency you choose and optionally your phone number. We also store when you agreed to the processing. We use this data to arrange the call, prepare for it and answer your enquiry. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
We enter requested and confirmed calls into our calendar at Zoho Calendar, with your name, your contact details and your project details. The provider is Zoho Corporation B.V., Beneluxlaan 4B, 3527 HT Utrecht, the Netherlands. The data is stored in data centres in the EU, and we have a data processing agreement with Zoho. To show free times, the website only asks Zoho when the calendar is busy. WordPress help enquiries are not entered into the calendar.
If you choose WhatsApp or Signal, we call you through that service. The provider processes connection data under its own privacy policy: WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland (https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea), or Signal Technology Foundation, Mountain View, USA (https://signal.org/legal/). If you do not want this, choose a normal phone call.
To prevent misuse, we store a one-way value (hash) of your IP address and use it to limit the number of requests. After sending, you receive a confirmation by email.
If we decline a request or the call does not take place, we delete the calendar entry straight away. We keep all details for 12 months after the last contact or after the call. After that they are anonymised, including the calendar entry. Only the date, type of project, budget range and timeline remain, with no link to you. If we start working together, the retention periods from the contract apply.
Your rights
In principle, you have the rights to information, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, revocation and objection. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde).
